Why am I surfing? What can a traffic exchange do for me?

signsjpeg4 Why am I surfing? What can a traffic exchange do for me?Why are we surfing? This is a great question, that I am sure everyone has thought about at some time, or at least should think about, because dedicating your time to surfing is a serious commitment.

For many surfers, the reason is simple, to get people to see your site. Ok, this is true, people do see your site, but what if you have a business that has a website, but does not recruit or sell products online? What could this do for you? How can someone, in another country, do your website any good?

To begin with, many people have this “Get Rich Quick” mentality when it comes to the Internet, but, I am sorry, it won’t happen! Yes, they sign up for affiliate sites, all promising riches, pay in the 10 bucks or whatever, work like fiends promoting the site, but nothing happens, why?

If someone walked up and told you, the same line as these sites, or that the SPAMMERS do in an email, with some lawyer in a country not known for being wealthy, needing help to send money? Come on, wire transfers work anywhere that they have banks! If they were really legit, wouldn’t everyone already be rich? Most of this stuff is so obvious, but why do they do it? What does this have to do with surfing?

Ok, I will tie this all together. That group, looking for quick money, are like fisherman, get a line in the water and maybe something or somebody will bite! The possibility of EASY MONEY sounds great, doesn’t it? The truth is, there are a lot of suckers out there that fall for it! Just like a fish biting a fake worm! So, watch out, these sites are the biggest problem on any traffic exchange, but, they don’t realize that they have been duped until it is too late. As hard as they work, they don’t realize that if it is not your domain, registered in your name, selling a legit product and not just a fantasy, then it is somebody else that gets paid, not you!

For those looking to promote any website, traffic is the key that unlocks the potential for your site.

SEO, Search Engine Optimization, is the most important of all, and is actually a simple thing, make sure that your images have titles, and that you have original content on your website, hmm, original, what does that mean? If you have an affiliate site, that looks just like everybody else’s, it is not original content. I don’t mean the template, I mean the text, written by you on your website, that describes what your site is about, that is where the keywords come in. If you have a site that sells dog food, you don’t have a bunch of content about unrelated things, like fishing, unless the dog food is good for feeding fish or something.

Ok, I’ll stop rambling. The way that a traffic exchange helps, other than just showing your site to lots of people, is once you have your site picked up by the search engines, your keywords about dog food and fishing are plentiful, what separates your site from the others about dog food? Traffic! The more visitors to your site, the more important it is! Thus, a higher page rank, which means that someone looking for tips on using dog food to feed fish can find your site easier.

(If you find any site in the rotation that you believe are a scam, report it at the Complaint Department, My policies are clear about these sites, I will let all of you be the judge, if these sites don’t bother you, they don’t bother me, I know who they are, but if they are active surfers, that is all that matters, and if you see a post that I have written, and you don’t agree with it, post a comment and say so. This site is here for surfers and I will do my best to keep out the bad code and such, but complaining about bad sites s up to you!)
