Ok, I have sent out an email letting everyone know that the site is up and running again, I wonder if anyone will come back? I really can't blame those that don't, I mean if anybody else was as mad as I was when this happened, then no one will be back!

I am sorry about this mess, but every level of support available couldn't put humpty dumpty back together again! Actually, there was nothing really broken, it was just that this script is old, and the server it is running on got an update, the old script was set to run a certain way and the update made the two not get along anymore, at least that is what I was told. Anyway, I changed a few things that put the script where it wanted to be, and where the updated server could talk to it again without having a problem, and it works again! Anyway, thanks for coming back, and even if you don't want to surf here anymore, let me know by deleting your account or sites, as there will be some changes here, again, real soon.

No, I am not going to delete anybody, it is just that I need to get stricter about the type of sites, because before the big bang happened, I was catching a bad site a week, or more, and that is not good, I will shut this thing down for good before I allow a bunch of bad code or redirects to take it over, I surf pretty much every day, so I will get it thinned out if anyone added something while the site was down. I hope that all of our good members come back, I kind of miss ya!

CarpetGuy on Website Traffic:What is it all about?

Today we find ourselves in an ever competitive world, every day, more and more people are turning to the internet to hunt for something, anything that can help them make a little more cash, but sadly, all they end up finding are get rich quick scams and rip-offs. Regretfully, traffic exchanges are by nature a promoter of this type of website.

Every webmaster wants to push their websites to the top of the ladder, and some will do this by hook or crook. No, I am not writing this to target anyone, but to make those that are unaware of the risks many of these websites bring.

There are sites with virus or spyware, sites that harvest email addresses so they may SPAM you to death. I do my best here to keep these risks down to a minimum, but, after they have been approved and activated, these things are added, so, they manage to slither past, but, if they stay in the rotation very long, there are mmany of our members out there that will report them and I WILL SUSPEND THEM!

Website traffic is a double edged sword, by promoting your site on a traffic exchange, you open yourself up to these SPAM and Malware sites that harvest your email address, or break the rotation to take you to a site in the quest of getting better Google or Alexa ratings, but, in actuality, many of these sites are not even taken seriously by the search engines, they are known SPAMMERS, and yes, traffic from a traffic exchange is SPAM traffic, when done in excess, I know, I used to have many sites on hundreds of exchanges, and yes, a few years ago, it did work, but not any more. Google looks at your site as a SPAMMER when it gets most of its page-views from traffic exchanges.

If, traffic exchanges are bad, why do I have one, you may be asking, because, if the traffic is of at least 30 seconds per visit, it is at least counted as a real visit, anything faster than that is not and will hurt your rating, if, it is even counted as a visit. This site was created to help "real" websites get exposure, not just traffic, unfortunately, to keep it all rolling, I have to allow some of the "other" sites, and I thank any and everyone that surfs here, and I give you my word, that the hit and run or sign-up and run members, will not get their sites activated. If you are a regular surfer, you know who you are, I do my best to keep your sites activated, I check at least once a day, if possible, but, I know, sometimes a site will be added after I have already checked, so it seems like two days, sorry about that.

My plea to you all is to keep the junk down to a minimum, I know that you have just recently signed up for some miracle website that is going to guarantee you whatever amount of money, good luck with that. I know that we all work very hard, and surfing is a pain in the butt, but, if you see a site that is interesting, take a closer look at it, there may be something there for you or someone you know. If you see a site, that you know is a scam, report it as such, I know, I got burned a couple of times myself, it happens, so, report it!

Getting traffic to a "real" website is my goal here, not to promote, or somehow endorse any of the "junk" sites that may end up in rotation here, so, be careful, think twice before you give up your money, or even an email address, it could be a bad decision.
